Devlog #1 – Post-Slavic Game Jam 2024 Plans

Hello, everyone! 👋 About 1.5 month ago, I created a game during the Slavic Game Jam 2024, and I’m excited to continue working on it. Although the jam version was a great experience, there’s plenty of room for improvement! Here’s a quick look at what’s coming:
🔧 Planned Fixes & Improvements
- Better, faster, and more responsive movement: Tightening up the player to feel more satisfying.
- Level redesign & jumping overhaul: Reworking jumps and level layouts to feel less frustrating
- Balancing potion pickups: Experimenting with enemies dropping health, mana, or both — or something different.
- Difficulty tweaks: Adjusting enemy strength and placement for a less challenging but still enjoyable experience?
🌱 What’s Next?
Expect more devlogs covering:
- Game Jam Version Postmortem: A reflection on what went right, what went wrong, and lessons learned.
- Features/ Design Experiments/ Ideas: Prototypes for new mechanics, like a second weapon (railgun?) or arena maps with more vertical movement.
- Visual Experiments/ Ideas: Considering a shift to retro-inspired full 3D graphics to enhance the aesthetic.
